Martin Robert L., age 87, of Edina. A longtime leader in the Commodity Futures Industry, died Sept. 13 in Mpls. Mr. Martin began his over 60 year career in the Commodities Industry in 1934. During the early 1960's, Mr. Martin served as Chairman of the Chicago Board of Trade. In 1975 he was appointed to serve as a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. After leaving the Commission, Mr. Martin served as Interim President of the Mpls. Grain Exchange and as a Futures Industry Consultant. Preceded in death by grandson, Robert George Hoban Jr. Survived by wife, Virginia; daughters, Gail Hoban and Nancy Martin; grandchildren, Catherine and Thomas Hoban; brother-in-law, Charles (Lucille) Lange; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service Wednesday 3:30 pm Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. & Vernon Ave. at Hwy 100.
