Robert J. Dassett Obituary

Dassett Robert J. Jr., of Mpls., passed away on April 13, 2002. Preceded in death by infant son. Survived by wife of 62 years, Betty; children, Margaret Dassett of St. Paul, Fred of Mound, Gretchen (Jon) Norlin of Mpls.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Frances) of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Lila Carpenter of Arizona. He spent 33 years as a professor of Spanish at Macalester College. He was a Master Gardener, volunteered at Eloise Butler Wild Flower Garden, Lake Harriet Rock Garden and was a Tour Guide at the U of M Arboretum, also was an avid bird watcher. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial Service 12 Noon Friday, April 19, 2002 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave S.
