Dassett Robert J. Jr., of Mpls., passed away on April 13, 2002. Preceded in death by infant son. Survived by wife of 62 years, Betty; children, Margaret Dassett of St. Paul, Fred of Mound, Gretchen (Jon) Norlin of Mpls.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Frances) of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Lila Carpenter of Arizona. He spent 33 years as a professor of Spanish at Macalester College. He was a Master Gardener, volunteered at Eloise Butler Wild Flower Garden, Lake Harriet Rock Garden and was a Tour Guide at the U of M Arboretum, also was an avid bird watcher.
