Newell Robert A., age 74, formerly of Lakeland, FL, on Jan. 11, 2003. Preceded in death by mother, Rose; brother, Joe. Survived by loving wife of 48 years, Margaret; children, Kathleen (Bob) Newell Day, Patricia Ireland, and Stephen (Debra); grandchildren, Katie and Matthew; siblings, Orv (Margaret), Rosemary Spaulding, Bud (Lois); also nephews, other relatives and friends, and faithful companion, his dog Bim; Bob grew up in Hermantown, MN, graduated from UMD, worked for U.S. Steel, and also for Polk County, FL. He loved to fish, golf, and read. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 375 N. Oxford St., St. Paul. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church.
