Richard W. ''Dick'', age 75, longtime resident of Deephaven, died suddenly on Jan. 16, 2002. He will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Patricia; daughters & sons-in-law, Lee Ann & Roland Mena, Cara & Glen Broich; grandchildren, Hunter and Stacia Mena, Essie Broich; and many friends and associates. He was a 1948 graduate of the U of M School of Architecture and worked for many years in the contracting business. He was instrumental in the building of many landmarks in the Twin Cities area including the Mpls Institute of Arts, Orchestral Hall, the Government Center, Mpls Convention Center and the Metrodome Stadium. He was very proud of his early years as a Naval Aviator (1948-1952). Both he and his wife grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN, where they now have a summer cottage. He was a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the World Presidents Organization (WPO), the Association of General Contractors of Minnesota, Beta Theta Pi fraternity and a long-time member of Wayzata Country Club. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 at 10:45 AM, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery (gather in assembly area #2 10:30 AM). Immediately following interment, MEMORIAL SERVICE at 12 noon, Wayzata Community Church, 125 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata (952-473-8877). Reception to follow service.
