Johnson, Richard Charles "RC" age 75 of Bloomington, MN born December 23, 1943, passed away in his home October 19, 2019. RC is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Adeline and his brother MPD officer James Johnson. Survived by nephews James (Jill) Johnson and David Johnson, great niece Nicole (Jason) Davis and great nephews, Brandon, Alex and Mitch Johnson and many friends. RC graduated from Washburn High School, Minneapolis and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War for 6 years prior to joining the Minneapolis Police department. RC proudly served the community he loved for 27 years on patrol, the bomb squad and the S.A.F.E. unit and earned several awards including the prestigious Medal of Honor. He retired in 1994 and has enjoyed traveling, fishing, sports and time with family and many close friends. A visitation will be held at Bradshaw 3131 Minnehaha Ave Monday, November 11, 3-7 and a Celebration of Life will be held at TGIFridays 2201 Killebrew Dr, Bloomington Tuesday, November 12, 4-7. RC will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling.
