Reverend Thomas John Lewis Obituary

Lewis Reverend Thomas John Faithful Servant, Husband, Father, Friend 1947-2003 Tom died May 17, 2003, at the age of 56, after a 2-year struggle against Agent Orange-related lung cancer. Born in Wood Lake, MN, Tom attended Granite Falls for K-12, then joined the Marines. After fighting in Vietnam, Tom attended CA Lutheran Bible School, UW Eau Claire, Fuller and Dubuque Seminaries. Tom taught in Hudson, WI, before entering full-time ministry. He served congregations in MT, WI, SD, and MN. Tom's wife, Carmen, their daughter, Charissa, son, A.J. and his wife Michelle, survive. Also surviving: three brothers and one sister, Rev. William & Joyce Lewis, Ron & Joan Lewis, Jim & Kerry Lewis, Betty & Bob Chadwell; in-laws, Rev. Daniel & Marie Vinge; and many loved friends and relatives. Tom's parents, W.B. & Elnora Lewis, and two nephews preceded him in death. Celebration Memorial Service 1 pm Saturday, May 31, FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 535 20th Avenue N., South St. Paul, MN. Family will greet friends 2 hours before service.
