Philip Kragnes Obituary

Kragnes, Philip Martin 54, of Minneapolis, MN passed away on October 2 after a long health struggle. Phil was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Earl and Anna Kragnes on May 30, 1965. From an early age, he was an independent outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing, camping and biking. A lifelong learner, he obtained a Masters Degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He married Rebecca (Rupp) Kragnes on August 17, 1996 and they built a life together in Minneapolis. Phil's passion for accessibility in education and work environments led him to spend 21 years working for the University of Minnesota as an Adaptive Technology Specialist. He loved wolves and his German Shepherd Seeing Eye Dogs: Orlon, Andy, Wanetta, Garron and Blake. Phil was preceded in death by his mother Anna Kragnes. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, his father Earl, and sisters Kathy Cox, Janice Warrington, and Cheryl Parsons. His quick wit, humor and teasing, his courageous, determined spirit and his positive energy will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held in the coming days.
