Hengel Peter H. Hengel age 72 of Coon Rapids, died of pancreatic cancer on July 1, after a gallant fight for the life he loved. Peter was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Peter was a 1960 graduate of Dunwoody Institute in Automotive and after his retirement, he got involved in woodworking projects, which he loved. Preceeded in death by his parents, Peter & Margaret Hengel, two sisters, Jean Marie Hengel and Joyce Langowski. Peter is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 45 years. Children: Jean (Steven) Hegarty, James (Pamela) Hengel, Janis (Roger) Anderson. Grandchildren: Jason & Ryan Hegarty, Andrew, Michael, Jennifer & Laura Hengel, Jessi & Amy Anderson. Sisters: Teresa, Mary & Geroldine Hengel of Winona, MN. Brother: Eugene (Darlene) Hengel of Tampa, Florida. The celebration of his life will be held with a mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Epiphany 111th & Hanson Blvd. NW Coon Rapids on Monday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Epiphany Cemetery. Visitation TODAY from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. with prayer service at 7:00 p.m at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel 1827 Coon Rapids, Blvd 763-767-1000 and 1 hour prior to Mass at church.
