Paul Edward Coleman Obituary

Coleman Paul Edward, age 81 of New Hope. Died peacefully after a short illness on January 8, 2002. Survived by devoted wife of 57 years, Irene; sons, Thomas (Betty), Patrick (Jo Anna) and Bill (Melinda); daughter, Anne Marie; grandchildren, Chad (Amy), Patrick, Mark (Malena), Kendra (Chris), Mollie, Daniel, Adam, and John; great grandchild, Tyler. Also survived by brother, Bob Coleman; and sisters, Rosemary Ring and Angela Foster. Preceded in death by parents, James P. Coleman and Katherine Neville Coleman; brother, James; and sister, Katherine. Paul was a lifelong Mpls area resident and a proud Irishman. He retired from the University of Minnesota after working many years on the West Bank campus as a groundskeeper. He was a member of the Crystal Knights of Columbus No. 3656, St Joseph's Parish Community of New Hope, and St Bridget's Catholic Church of Mpls. He loved to dance, keep his grass the greenest on the block, cheer on Gopher football, Vikings and Twins teams and read a good mystery novel. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday at St. Joseph's Parish Center, 36th & Boone Ave N. Interment St Mary's. Visitation 5-8 pm Thursday with 7 pm prayer service at the Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave N & Vicksburg Lane and at the Parish Center one hour before Mass.
