Norman F. Paradise Obituary

Norman F. Paradise, 58, passed away at the Mercy Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa on December 23rd after a long illness. Dr. Paradise was born in Mpls, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota and received a Ph.D in Physiology. Throughout his career, he lived and worked in Rochester, MN, Kent, OH, and Mpls, MN before moving to Des Moines where his most recent position was Executive Director of Research for the Iowa Health Systems. He was also Vice President of Valley Anesthesia Educational Programs. His generous heart has touched hundreds of people over the years. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at the Paradise Home in Clive, IA on Thursday, January 3rd from 4 pm-7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center on Friday, January 4th at 3 pm. A private burial service was held at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Mpls. Dr. Paradise is survived by his wife, Barbara; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Margaret Paradise of Lakeville, MN, Michael and Meda Paradise of West St. Paul,l MN, Alex and Jacqueline Paradise of Des Moines, IA; and one daughter, Vanessa, at home; as well as many beautiful grandchildren. His mother Evelyn Paradise, and sisters, Barbara Paradise and Janet Lundeen also survive him. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman F. Paradise Nurse Anesthesia Education and Research Foundation.
