Ludwig Merle R., age 86, died of cancer on August 3, 2002. Survived by wife, Althea (nee Squiers); and son, Robert (Phyllis). Merle was a Honeywell Electrical Engineer with several patents in his name. He had been an early ''hi-fi'' enthusiast, a photographer who developed and printed his own pictures, an avid golfer and a private pilot. According to his wishes, there will be a private family memorial. With deep gratitude to Methodist Hospice Staff and to the Our Lady of Good Counsel Home.
