Melville John Boucher Obituary

Boucher Melville John. Born February 11, 1926 to Hiram A. and Rosa Stokes Boucher. Passed away on November 17, 2002 in New Hope, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen; brother, Frank; sister, Stella Tingle, her husband, Bruce Tingle, and their family; as well as by son, Douglas, and his wife, Charlotte Chakan Boucher; son, Richard, and his wife, Carolyn Brehm; daughter, Anita, and her husband, Jeff Bangsberg; and grandchildren, Johnny, Nellie, Madeleine, and Peter. A graduate of the Georgetown School of Foreign Service, Melville served his country in the Army in World War II and in the federal government for over 30 years, primarily with the National Security Agency. He retired to Canandaigua, New York in 1981 and later moved to Minnesota. He is remembered as a devoted father, active citizen and loving husband. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Washington, D.C. area. In lieu of flowers and in accordance with Melvilles wishes, the family suggests contributions be made to CARE, Planned Parenthood or Doctors without Borders.
