Maxine Smiley Obituary

Smiley, Maxine age 97, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2019. Preceded in death by parents, Ethel & Harry Goldie; husband, Saul C. Smiley; sister, Phyllis (Bruce) Latz; and brother, Buddy (Joyce) Lee. Survived by daughters, Leslie (Gary) Galvan, Linda Burke and Lisa Greenblat; grandchildren, Robert Melamed, Jr., Jessica (David) Frattalone, Ross Greenblat, Erin Greenblat, Charles Burke and Sarah Burke; and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Max, Charlie and William. Maxine grew up in Minneapolis where she and Saul raised their three children. They later moved to Palm Springs for their love of golf and to spend time with many friends. Maxine was an avid synchronized swimmer and performed with the Aquabelles in the first Minneapolis Aquatennial. With her great sense of rhythm, she was a frustrated Rockette who will dance in our hearts forever. Memorial service 12:30 pm on FRIDAY, October 11, 2019, at TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2323 Fremont Ave. S., Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to Park Nicollet Hospice or Temple Israel.
