Mary G. Lewis Obituary

Lewis Mary G., age 84, of Mpls, born Sept. 8, 1917, passed away Aug. 25, 2002. Preceded in death by her loving husband, John; sister, Bernadine Hutchinson; brother, Lester Palen. Wonderful mother to 6 children, Carole Miller (Jim), Beth Lewis, John Lewis, Rich Lewis (Barbara), Tom Lewis (Adrian), Mark Lewis (Connie); grandmother to 13 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren; also survived by sisters, Dorothy Neal & Viola Peterman. Mary was born in LaCrosse, WI and moved to Mpls in 1947. She owned & operated Lewis Pipe & Tobacco (formerly The Tobacco Shop) from 1971 until her retirement in 2000. She was a resident of Catholic Eldercare Nursing Home for the past 18 months. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Catholic Eldercare for the wonderful care given to our mother. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 AM at the Church of Our Lady of Victory, 5155 Emerson Ave N. Interment Fort Snelling. Visitation Wed. 5-9 PM, with Remembrances 8 PM at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 39th & West Broadway. Gearty-Delmore 763-537-4511
