Mary Notch Obituary
Notch Mary Notch of Atwater, MN, went home to be with her Lord on August 24, 2005. Mary Adele (Heinz) Notch graduated as Valedictorian at Central High School, Minneapolis. She attended St. Catherine's College in St. Paul on an academic scholarship, where she graduated with honors. She taught at Miller Vocational College and in Gaylord High School. During the war, Mary taught at Fort Snelling and also worked as a secretary there. Mary was married to Edwin Notch in 1948 and they settled in Atwater, where she lived for over 55 years. In recent years, she also lived in Maple Plain and Shakopee. Mary was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kandiyohi, Canasta Club, Atwater Bible Study and the Atwater Book Club. Mary is warmly welcomed into heaven by her parents; her husband, Edwin (Eddie) Notch; sons, Stephen and James; brother, Vincent Heinz, and sister, Beatrice Heinz. Mary will be deeply missed by sons, John (Josie Branco) Notch of Wilmette, IL and Tom (Cindy) Notch of Minnetrista, MN; loving sister, Frances Heinz of Minneapolis; adored grandchildren, Kristin (Anthany) Ries, Ryan (Sarah) Notch, Kelly, Steven and Andrew Notch; precious great- grandson, Logan Ries. She also leaves behind many dear friends, neighbors and extended Notch family members. Mary's Funeral Mass is on Friday, 9/2/05 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kandiyohi. Visitation Thursday, 9/1/05 from 6 to 8 PM at the Atwater Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass at St. Patrick's.
