Martha Jean Hammel Obituary

Hammel Martha Jean, age 66, of St. Louis Park, on Nov. 24, after a long battle with leukemia, with family members and friends at her bedside. Jean was born on Oct. 5, 1936 in Waterloo, IA to Raymond & Nell Addington. She worked as a frame technician for US West for 38 years, retiring in 1997, and she was a member of the Elks Lodge of Hopkins. Jean will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 42 years, Mike; son, Scott (Lynda); several grandchildren; sister, Betty Krause; brother, Robert Addington (Marie); brothers-in-law, Willard (Dolores), Bill (Bonnie) and Fred; nieces, nephews; cats, Tom & Daisy; special friend, Marge Thompson and many other family members & friends. Memorial service 11 am Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at Gearty-Delmore Park Chapel, Wooddale at Excelsior Blvd. Friends may call 1/2 hour before service. Private interment, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Jean's family would like to express their special appreciation to the nurses and other medical staff in the Advanced Care Unit on 4 South at Methodist Hospital (Meadowbrook), St. Louis Park.
