Bowers, Mark Age 70 of Lake Minnetonka, passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2023. Mark was born on June 6th, 1953 to parents Gordon and Virginia Bowers. He was the youngest of six boys and spent a happy childhood on Lake Minnetonka. From a young age, Mark developed a passion for competitive sailing and became a central character in the local sailing community for the rest of his life. Known for his sunny personality and unwavering optimism, he was loved by friends and family far and wide. A devoted husband and father, he was happily married to his wife Suzie for 37 years and dedicated his adult life to raising his two children, Erik and Sara. The family enjoyed many trips and adventures abroad, while their home was always a popular gathering place for friends and family. Mark will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations which will be distributed to youth sailing initiatives and other causes close to Mark's heart. Mark's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 17th from 4 - 9 PM with special remarks and sharing at 6 PM, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (gathering space on West end of building) 680 Mill Street, Excelsior.
