Mabel Peterson Obituary

Peterson (Sjobeck) Mabel of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of St. Paul, died on January 20th, 2002 after a brief illness. Born May 18, 1917, of Carl and Albertina Peterson. Graduated from St. Paul Central High and Rasmussen Business College. She was the runner-up for the 1937 St. Paul Queen of Snows Winter Carnival. It was at that time she met and later married, Albin Sjobeck, who preceded her in death in 1956. In 1964, she married Ray H. Peterson, who preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. Peterson was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in West St. Paul. She was also an active member of the Macallister Park and later the Roseville Chapter OES. In 1997, she relocated to Florida. She is survived by two sons, Carl Sjobeck, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Jack Sjobeck (Elizabeth) of Shoreview, MN; four grandchildren, Jenny Kay Sjobeck, Brian Sjobeck, and Daniel Sjobeck (Michelle) of St. Paul, MN; Jason Sjobeck (Jennifer Lohse) of Portland, OR, and a great-granddaughter, Jessica. Funeral Services to be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 S. Snelling, St. Paul, MN on Saturday, Feb. 9th, 2002 at 11:00 am. Friends are welcome to visitation at 10:00 am; Luncheon immediately following the service.
