Clark Louise Gertrude Bachertz, formerly of Edina, passed away June 16, 2002. She was born June 12, 1910 in Mankato, the daughter of Blanche and Rudolph Bachertz. Raised in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School with honors having won 2nd prize in State and National Chemistry contest. She entered nurses training and graduated from St. Barnabas Hospital in Mpls. She practiced as a registered nurse and X-ray technician for 17 years. During this time she served in the offices as secretary, treasurer and president of the Twin Cities Society of X-Ray Technicians. During WWII, she served as 2nd Lieutenant in the Minnesota State Guard Nurses Batallion, Co. A. Louise worked for the Red Cross, traveling with the Bloodmobile for many years until she retired. After retirement, she gave volunteer services to the Hennepin County Red Cross and to the Blood Donors Station at the Veteran's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy Bachertz Miller. Interment Dawn Valley Cemetery.
