Jokela, Leland L. 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 25, 2017. Preceded in death by his parents Nestor and Alma Jokela, and sister Sandra. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of over 60 years Mary Jo, daughters Janet (Sheldon), Lynn and Cindy (Chris), grandchildren Julian and Audrey Moyer, sister Dorothy Risnes, brothers Raymond and David Jokela and many friends. He had a long and successful career in the optical industry and his colleagues and friends appreciated his kindness, humor and wisdom. Throughout his life he had many interests but especially enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors and playing golf. Admired for his accurate tee shots, Lee often said, "every day is a good day for golf, drive for show and putt for dough." A memorial service is planned for Weds., Nov. 29, 11:00 AM at Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church in Golden Valley, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Spirit of Hope, or a charity of the donor's choice.
