Grinolds Lawrence ''Lorny'' W., 85, of Albert Lea, MN, died Oct. 10, 2002 in Albert Lea. Lorny graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1936. He played for Albert Lea in the Minnesota State High School Basketball Tournament in 1936. Serviced in U.S. Navy during WW II on USS Anthedon, a submarine tender. Managed Americana Insurance Agency in Alden, MN, before retiring in 1983. Married Anne Pacvosky Sept. 22, 1940; lived near Glenville, MN. Anne preceded Lorny in death in 1998. Served on the Freeborn County Planning Commission, active in Glenville Boosters, inducted into the Freeborn County Softball Hall of Fame. Member of Elks, American Legion, VFW, Osman Shrine Temple, Past Master of Western Star Lodge #26 AF & AM & Past Patron of the Halcyon Chapter #21 Order of the Eastern Star. Enjoyed bowling, fishing, and was an avid golfer. Survived by son, Richard ''Dick'' Grinolds of Mpls. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Anne; son, Lawrence ''Larry'' Grinolds; brothers.
