Laurence Johnson Obituary

Johnson Laurence, 96, beloved member of the Greatest Generation, entered into eternity on Thursday, March 6, 2003. He was a much loved and generous family man and ever faithful friend. Laurence graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Engineering in 1927. He retired in 1969 after a 41-year career with the Soo Line Railroad where he was Chief Engineer, General Manager, and Vice President. He was preceded in death by wife, Myrtle; son, Stanley; and granddaughter, Kris Rronngren. He is survived by daughter, Kay Ronngren; grandson, Todd Ronngren (w. Julia); and many nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Walker Methodist Care Center chapel, 3737 Bryant Ave. So., Minneapolis, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10. The family will greet friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Walker Methodist Care Center. ENGLISH-MEEKER & KANDT FUNERAL HOME, 651-455-5352
