Volkert Kristine Marie, age 54, of New Richmond, died March 21 of cancer. Born Feb. 29, 1948 in Waseca, MN, Kris attended Sacred Heart in Waseca and vocational school. She was employed by Seagate for 30 years as a photo mask technician. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and cooking. Preceded in death by parents, Francis & Jacqueline Clasen; father-in-law, Arnold Volkert. Survived by husband, Richard; children, Sarah (John) Peterson, Nicol Amberg, Mike (Gina); grandchildren, Ben and Chloe Peterson. Funeral service Monday, 1 pm at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, New Richmond, WI. Visitation Sunday, 4-8 pm at the church; also one hour prior to service. Pastor John Schenck will officiate and Bonnie Klopp will play the organ. Bagpipe music provided by John Davenport. Pallbearers, Steve Clasen, Tony Clasen, Mark Clasen, Mike, John Peterson, Lester Rogers. Interment New Richmond Cemetery.
