Kathy Teigland Obituary

Teigland Kathy Teigland, 55, of rural Iowa City, died Friday, November 22, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a short illness. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, TODAY, November 26, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. A short reception will follow. Kathy was born June 28, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the Rev. Fred and Marian Conly Ringham. She graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN in 1969 with a degree in Nursing. Kathy worked as a nurse at the University of MN and the University of Iowa, caring for newborns and their mothers as a certified lactation consultant. Kathy married Bruce Teigland on June 20, 1970. A pianist and organist, Kathy was also an accomplished artist. She loved children, flowers and the seashore. In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her son, David and his fiancee, Shilo Jackson, of Taylorsville, UT; her daughter, Emily and her husband, Pete Jacoby, and their son, Thomas, of Eden Prairie, MN; her son, Jonathan, of rural Iowa City; her sister, Jody Ronsheim and her husband, Paul, of Hopewell Junction, NY; her brother, Eric Ringham, of Mpls; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to La Leche League International, Funding Development, 1400 N. Meacham Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60187.
