Trautmann Kathryn Bernice Trautmann, age 72, of Crosslake, MN, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002 at her home. Kathryn was born Nov. 23, 1929 in Dupree, SD, the daughter of John & Ruth Rekstad. Kathryn grew up and attended high school in Hastings, MN. Following high school she attended Northwestern Bible College in Mpls. On Aug. 17, 1951 she married James Trautmann and they made their home in Prairie du Sac, WI & Duluth, MN, from 1955-1964 where James practiced general medicine. In 1964 they moved to Rochester, MN where James worked as an Ophthalmology Resident at Mayo Clinic. They lived in Rochester until retirement from the Mayo Clinic in 1993. In 1998 Jim and Kathryn moved to Crosslake where they have lived until the present. Kathryn was a member of the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church, and expressed her faith in Christ through the many ways she loved her family and others. She is survived by her husband, James of Crosslake, MN; 4 daughters, Susan Avery (Gary) of Lincoln, NE, Ruth Bloomstrom (Glen) of Lake Ridge, VA, Karin Wessberg (Dick) of Shoreview, MN, Beverly Greer (Marc) of Yucapia, CA; 1 son, David Trautmann (Sheri) of Chanhassen, MN; 16 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Arlene Conrath (Don) of White Bear Lake, MN, Cecelia Mausolf (Orv) of Hudson, WI; 2 brothers, Howard Rekstad (Carla) of Shoreview, MN, Lloyd Rekstad (Joyce) of Yucaipa, CA; aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Crosslake Evangelical Free Church, with Rev. Richard Turnwall officiating. Burial will be in the Crosslake Cemetery in Crosslake, MN. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service from 12-2 PM at the church.
