John Lloyd Gardner Obituary

Gardner John Lloyd Gardner, 55, died peacefully March 13, 2003, surrounded by family and friends. Preceded in death by father, Ward. Survived by mother, Uva; brother, Roger; sisters, Amy (Marc) and Kathy (Tim); wife, Penelope; daughter, Leah (Manuel); nieces, Brooke(Dave) and Heather; nephew, Oliver; grandnieces, Sarah, Jessica & Kristen; grand nephew, Eric. John worked for the Mpls Park & Recreation Board from 1985 -1998 in School Age Child Care and in the forestry division, as an arborist from 1998 to present. John will be remembered for his gentle nature, love of children, music, sports, cinema, and a new-found enthusiasm for identifying trees. Thanks to all family, friends & co-workers for their extraordinary demonstration of love and concern. Special thanks to Dr. Martin Lee, Methodist Hospital Hospice and the staff of the oncology unit at Methodist Hosp. A Celebration of John's life to be held Saturday, March 22, at 2 PM at Mayflower Church, 106 E. Diamond Lake Rd., Mpls. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ronald McDonald House, 608 SE Ontario St., Mpls 55414. Cremation Society of MN 612-825-2435
