James Arthur Paterson Obituary

Paterson James Arthur, passed away in Colorado Springs on Nov. 21, 2001. He was born in London, England in 1911. He moved to the U.S. and married Myrtle Lenander in 1938. They made their home in Hopkins, MN where they raised 7 children: Patricia, James, Michael, Linda, Lillian, Jeffrey and Sherry. Jim made a career as a baker. He managed the bakery at Hovander's Grocery Store in Hopkins for many years. He served in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy. He won a gold medal in the Culinary Olympics in 1972 in Frankfurt, Germany for artistic breads. Jim served as President of the Midwest Chefs' Society. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; his seven children; a sister, Lillian Piepho of Hopkins and seventeen grandchildren. A funeral was held on Wed., Nov. 28 in Colorado Springs, CO.
