Girod Helen, 86, died January 29, 2003, in Green Valley, AZ., surrounded by her daughter, family and friends. Others, though separated by miles, were present in thought. She will be missed by her daughter, Sharon Waight; grandchildren Todd, Cynthia, Andrea Waight and Jenny Chawla; great-grandchildren Dillon Chawla and Olivia Richardson; sister, Olga Kennedy and brother, Pete and wife, Eloise Mosely; daughter by marriage, Judy Hagfors and husband, Larry, as well as many other loved relatives and friends. Helen was born in Castleton, ND., and grew up surrounded by 6 sisters and 2 brothers. For the past 35 years she summered in Pine City, MN., and wintered in Green Valley, AZ. A dynamic free spirit, Helen lived her life fully and in her own way. Her kind heart, wisdom, and earthy humor touched and inspired many. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2003 at 1 pm at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3900 Winnetka Avenue North, New Hope, MN. Interment will be private.
