Kesler, Gale Thompson Age 96, Mtka, formerly of Edina, died peacefully on 9/2/08. Preceded in death by wife, Lillie and son, Bob. Survived by son, Jim (Sue); daughter, Carol Rothe (Roger); daughter-in- law, Hedy Kesler; grandchildren, Tami (Kevin), Tony (Joy), Shari (Rich), Scott, Sharon, Jan, Trish and 5 great-grandchildren. Gale graduated from U of MN School of Architecture and ROTC. He was employed by Chase, Brass and Copper, before reporting to the 63rd Coast Artillery where in Seattle he installed AA defense around the Boeing Aircraft facility. In 1945, Major Kesler reported to Korea to manage the New Korea Company. He was promoted to Lt. Col and remained in ROA. 1952- 1976, Gale worked for and became manager of the NW Bank Bldg Company and was BOMA president 1962-63. Gale enjoyed retirement in Green Valley, AZ and Park Rapids. He loved his pines and splitting logs, fishing, hunting, the Twins and Vikings. Family and friends will remember his strength, generosity and carefully chosen words to the wise. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Colonial Church of Edina, 11 AM on Friday, 9/12/08. Memorials preferred to Am. Heart Assoc. or donor's choice.
