Esther Grosklags Obituary

Grosklags Esther, age 93, formerly of Fairfax, died Wed., June 12, 2002 at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax. A memorial service will be 11 AM Sat., June 15, 2002 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon, with burial in the St John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Fairfax. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon is in charge of the arrangements. Esther is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Carol & Stanley Lauwagie of Gibbon; sons & daughters-in-law, LeRoy & Lorie Grosklags of St. James, Richard & Darla Grosklags of Prior lake; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Pingel of Norman, OK; a sister-in-law, Florence Groslags, a resident of the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph Grosklags in 1969; a grandson, Stanley Lauwagie Jr.; and by brothers, Ed Domke, Clarence Domke & Roland Domke. She was born on Jan. 1, 1909 in Sleepy Eye to William & Rose (Vollmer) Domke. On April 20, 1931 she married Rudolph Grosklags at the St. John German Lutheran Church in Fairfax. After marriage they lived in the Fairfax area. They moved to Bloomington in 1954 where she worked for Daytons for over 25 years. She was a member of the Bloomington Lutheran Church in Bloomington.
