Nelson, Elizabeth Ann "Iffa" age 49, resident of Brainerd, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Iffa was born on December 11, 1958 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Gregory and Margaret (Ford) Gits. She graduated from Bemidji High School and from Brainerd Vo-Tech, with a degree in floral design. After graduation, Iffa worked in Bemidji as a florist and met Gayle whom she loved very much. They were married 26 years. She was a great cook, and she enjoyed gardening and fishing with her boys. Iffa fought a courageous battle with leukemia. Survivors include her husband, Gayle Clifford Nelson; her sons, Cody Gregory Nelson and Benjamin John Nelson; her father, Greg Gits; her in-laws, Rosemary and Clifford Nelson; her siblings, sister, Judy Klaers and her husband Pat; brother, Charles Gits and his wife Kim; sister, Helen Yarmoska and her husband Wayne; brother, John Gits and his wife Lisa; brother-in-law, Glen Nelson and his wife Beaner; sister-in-law, Linda Ward. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Elizabeth Gits on May 7, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Monday, August 25, 2008 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Gabriel Waweru officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home with a prayer service/rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will continue the hour before services at the church on Monday.
