Gilbert Earl C., age 81, of Boulder, CO, formerly of Hopkins, MN on January 12, 2002. Born in DesMoines, IA and moved to Mpls. at the age of 5. Worked for the General Mills Mechanical Division, Armour Meat Co., and The Mpls. Veterans Hospital. Survived by wife, of 56½ years, Jane; children, Judith Ann Gilbert, Boulder, CO, and Earl ''Bud'' Gilbert & wife, Edna Culpepper of New Smyna Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Jessica and Jennifer Spensley and Jonathon, Joshua and Jaime Gilbert; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held in Colorado. Memorials preferred to Terrace Heights Nursing Home, 2121 Mesa Dr., Boulder, CO, 80304. Cremation Society of MN Mpls. 612-825-2435
