McGuire Denise M., age 48, of 919 Julie Drive, St. Cloud, died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital after a courageous struggle with brain cancer. Survived by loving husband of 25 years, Michael; daughter, Lisa, U. of Wis.-River Falls; sons, Jim and Kevin; mother, Sarah Bradford, St. Paul; brothers, Vince, Bart and Michael (Ceil); sisters, Jeanette Gunderson (Paul), Mary Sue Barry (Joe), Kathy Lande (Jon). Preceded in death by father, James; and brother, Victor. Denise graduated from Visitation High School, College of St. Catherine, and the University of Minnesota with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry; and since 1986 has been a Biology Professor at St. Cloud State University. She developed a biotechnology course and program at SCSU that was extremely successful as evidenced by the accomplishments of her students in industry and academia. She was a charismatic teacher, compassionate coach, and devoted mother who will be missed at future hockey and soccer games throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Funeral Services will be on Friday, March 22nd at 4:00 PM at Christ Church, Newman Center, St. Cloud. Visitation will begin at 1 PM in the church with a gathering downstairs following the funeral.
