David Vickmark Obituary

Vickmark David, of Rapid City, son of the late Lillian Habeger and the late Obed Vickmark, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 9, 2002. Born on May 13, 1938, in Madison, he was a graduate of Madison High School and earned a degree in teaching from Dakota State University. Mr. Vickmark went on to teach and coach in Pierre, Denver, Las Vegas, and Minneapolis. He started U.S. Transformer with his brother, Gary Vickmark, which continues to operate today. In addition, Mr. Vickmark was a successful painter, loved horses, and was a devoted family man. Survivors include his wife, Lisbeth Vickmark of Rapid City; two sons, Bryce Vickmark of Bridgeport, CT, and Bernard Vickmark of Rapid City; two daughters, Katherine Vickmark of Rapid City and Sara Wojewski of Rapid City; two brothers, Gary Vickmark of Phoenix, AZ, and Jack Vickmark of Madison; four sisters, Carol Williams of Ramona, Corrine Petersen of Pierre, Darlene Williams of Madison, and Lyla Williams of Concord, CA; a son-in-law, Paul Wojewski of Rapid City; a daughter-in-law, Rochelle Rosen of Bridgeport, CT; two grandchildren, John Paul Wojewski and Isabella Wojewski of Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vickmark is predeceased by his mother-in-law, Margaret Leagjeld; a sister, Lorraine Vickmark; and his brothers, Lyle Vickmark and C.O. Vickmark. A memorial fund has been established in his honor.
