Marcell Betty Louise (nee Snyder), age 77, of Golden Valley, on October 3, 2002, of breast cancer. Born in Grand Rapids, MN. She worked at Cooper High School as a school nurse for many years, as well as being a key figure in the musicals at both Cooper and Richfield High Schools, sewing costumes tirelessly. Retired at 60 she began a new life of travel and study in this country and abroad. She handed on her love of music to her children and grandchildren all of whom became musicians. Betty's last weeks were spent peacefully at the North Residential Hospice where she went when the cancer returned after a 3 year remission. Survived by husband, James; daughters, Lynn and Lise; grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail and Michael; sister, Dorothy; and myriad nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave S, Mpls (612-825-2435) on Saturday, October 12 at 2 pm. Memorials preferred to the North Residential Hospice, 4201 58th Ave N, Brooklyn Center, 55429.
