Barbara R. Wells-Howe, age 50, of Saint Paul, on 1-16-02. Barb lived joyfully, fully, and faithfully with cancer for 19 years. She is preceded in death by parents, Chester G. and Jacqueline M. Wells. She will be sadly missed by husband, Paul L. Howe; children, Christopher, Stephen, Maggie and Jeffrey; sister, Stephanie (Eric) Burke; brother, Charlie (Tracy) Wells; 12 nieces and nephews; many other loving relatives and friends. Barb was a former employee of the U of M, member of the U of M Alumni Band Society; 21 year employee at Macalester College, served on various committees including: Presidential & Provost Search Committee, former Chair, Staff Advisory Council; longtime member of Fairmount Avenue UMC, directed The Followers youth choir for 9 years, served on the Board of Directors, Northern Pines Methodist Camp. Barb loved the world and all of its richness and diversity. She loved life, God, her family, friends, music and believed in the good that is in all people. Memorial services will be Sunday, 1-27-02, 4:00 PM at FAIRMOUNT AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1523 Fairmount Avenue, Saint Paul and Monday, 1-28-02, 3:30 PM at WEYERHAEUSER CHAPEL, Macalester College, Saint Paul. Family will receive friends following each service. Memorials are greatly preferred in lieu of flowers to any of the following: Fairmount Avenue UMC, Macalester College Alumni Association, U of M Band Alumni Society, Northern Pines Methodist Camp.
