Ann Wilson Obituary

Wilson, Ann Nugent "Annie" to those who loved her most. Beloved Mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on October 8, 2019, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 88. Born on July 16, 1931, to Cecelia Nugent (Garvin) and Lewis Nugent, Annie spent most of her childhood living on 54th and Dupont in Minneapolis. She attended Annunciation grade school and graduated from Washburn High School in 1949. At 17 she married, Larry Wilson. They were married for over 30 years and had 8 children. They raised their family on the river bluff in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Annie devoted her life to the well-being of her children. An enthusiastic lover of nature, Annie instilled in them a deep appreciation for the environment. She was an artistic and literary inspiration to her children, creating a home filled with books, watercolors, and vibrant perennial gardens. She spent countless hours engaged in conversations about politics, history, the environment, literature and art. A passionate advocate for women's rights and civil rights, Annie show-ed her children how to actively engage in their beliefs, encouraging each of them to forge their own way with unconditional love and support. One of Annie's greatest joys was sharing in the lives of her 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She made each one feel as if they were the most special person in the world. They will remember her as a perceptive, gentle, and independent spirit, with a brilliant wit and offbeat sense of humor. She will be joining Mary Katherine (Katie) Wilson (daughter), Michael Wilson (son), and Susan Wilson Robinson (daughter) in the spirit realm. She is grieved by her daughters Bonnie Wilson (Larry), Patricia Wilson (Chip), Margaret Wilson, her sons Hersch Wilson (Laurie) Joey Wilson (Linda), son-in law George Robinson (Susie), her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on October 21st, at 11am with visitation at 10:30am at Unity Church Minneapolis, 4000 Golden Valley Road, Minneapolis, MN 55422. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Audubon Minnesota, 1 Water St. W., Suite 200, St. Paul, MN 55107.
