Kanel A. Byron, 87, died 9/2/02 in Sun City, AZ. A Mpls resident who moved to Arizona in 1966, he kept Mpls in his heart and treasured his relationships there. He was a good and respected man who worked as a cartographer for the cities of Mpls and Phoenix. His family is proud of his Navy service (3 yrs in WWII, 28 yrs active Naval Reserve.) Survived by wife, Harriette Haines Kanel; son, Fred A. Kanel (Sylvia); daughter, Nancy J. Cassi; grandchildren, Jeffrey H. Kanel, Sarah R. Kanel, Christopher M. Cassi, Matthew Byron Cassi; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Billie Boyle.
